Gov. Blagojevich...

Our poor, poor Governor is out of a job as of now. He needed to be! Right now they are voting whether he can ever hold office again in the state. HA! Looks like he won't! My husband and I have only lived in this state for about 2 years now, but it didn't take long for us to realize that our Governor was crooked. He is/was so crooked that it makes Nixon look good! Yea!!! I am a very happy person now!

My Mother-In-Law Has A New Blog.....

I have set up a new blog for my mother-in-law who lives in England. She has been learning how to use a computer for the past 11 months and she has some hard times with it. Printers, Internet and so on.

She has been fascinated with blogs since I started one last year. I told her when she visits this summer that I would set her up a blog. Then I started thinking (which gets me in trouble) why can't I set one up for her today? I did that. Then she has to verify the account. Unfortunately after an hour of trying to get into the blog and her e-mail to verify the account and me trying to get into her e-mail, she realized wasn't on and she can't get it on. She is going to have to get someone to look at it. I don't know....

When she can get into it, update and do what people do on blogs, go visit her at A Happy Life!

Spring?

I had a dream last night that Spring was here and I was out in my garden and enjoying the sun. Unfortunately I woke up at the horrible hour of 5:30 am (that's when I have to get up) and it was 2 degrees outside!

The only upside to Winter is that I can get most of those projects done before spring comes. Which can't come too soon!

Something New .....

I have been thinking about putting a heading on the side titled, "What's for dinner tonight?".
Maybe if I type it out every morning then I will think about it and remember to make it for dinner. Another way for me to try and stay organized. Let's see how it works!

I went shopping this past Friday and again I can't resist a good deal! Michael's was having a 90% off sale!

I also had to stop by a garage sale that was going on. Paid a whole $4.00 for this lot!

So much for saving money this year. Maybe next year!

When are you a Blogaholic?

I found another wonderful blog today justabeachkat and she made me wonder if I was really a blogoholic.

Is it when your husband is waiting for you to iron his shirt and you tell him that you have to save some blog addresses to read those blogs later?

How about when your husband calls you obsessed with blogs?

When you have over 100 favorite blogs that you visit each day?

How about when you read some of the blogs in the morning after reading the paper and read the rest in the evening after dinner to catch up with whats been going on in blogland.

I am one of those looky loo people who loves to visit other peoples blogs and not leave a comment. Sorry about that! I am trying to get better about it. I just love everyone's blog!

I do follow a lot of blogs and I do read all of the blogs on the side of mine, along with blogs on the side of others!

I do also add at least 1 or 2 blogs to my list daily. I have a few new blogs that I have added today!

I have been thinking about this post since my husband called me obsessed and it's not an obsession. Is it? I don't know. I guess I am a blogaholic! Won't change a thing though. I still enjoy reading, commenting (trying to comment more) and posting. I especially love reading other peoples blogs. Again, sorry if I just visit and don't comment.

I was a very bad girl!

I had to go back to the estate sale on Saturday and see what was half price and came up with this stuff.

Paid about $18 for this and a marble top floor lamp!

Then I had to go back on Sunday and see what was left after Saturday and see what bargains I could get! Painting $7.50 each! The rest I paid about $6. I love a good deal!

What was I thinking?

As you can see I found a few things....

A wall lamp ($2), calculator ($1), tin tray($.50), sewing stuff, a rug and more underneath.

Couldn't pass this up. Magazine storage ($4.00) and calculator tape ($.25).

I don't know what I was thinking when I picked this writing desk ($3). Maybe I thought I could I could put decorative wood trim and paint it. There is a pretty quilt under it.

Lots and lots of other peoples treasures!

I only spent about $60.00 on all of it. Some of it is treasure and some of it I just d0n't know what I was thinking at the time. Maybe I thought it was such a good deal? Don't know. But I had a really good time shopping! I will find a purpose for most of it or in the future I will.

I did make it to the estate sale. I don't want to sound mean or anything, however, I do love it when old people die! However it always makes me wonder what people are going to say after my husband and I go and the kids decide to sell off our stuff!

Even though it will be about 0 degrees outside I will be well on my way to the first thrift store stop to get my fix! It's too cold for garage sales so thrift stores will have to do. I have about 4 thrift stores to visit and hope to find some treasures. Maybe 1 estate sale. Then its off to Wal-Mart and a grocery store. Hopefully I will find something wonderful and time away from the children!

My Painting Projects Over the Next Few Months.

This is the upstairs bathroom. We had it painted it about a year and a half ago and I have been thinking about how it would look red! When it was in the process of being painted I was out shopping and my husband told them what to paint. I will be painting the trim white. All of the trim? We have quarter round along the ceiling and trim that frames each of the walls. Probably I will paint the quarter round white.

I believe this will be my first project and I will paint it red!

The girls room we painted almost a year and a half ago and I think I want to continue the pink paint to the ceiling.

This is the den. I took a picture of the ceiling so that you can see that I have to match that! I don't want to paint a ceiling again.

You can also see that the walls have wallpaper on them. I am not going to remove it because I am scared to find out what is behind them! Also, I don't think I can get my husband to help me take off the wallpaper. Lots of primer and paint and the wallpaper will never come off.

This is the craft room where I do all of my sewing, the kids do projects and my husband takes over and works from home.

I thought about painting it the top color but decided it might be too dark. The other colors I am considering are the two colors on the right. I really like the first one on the right. The room has a huge closet with french doors that lead to a red dining room and windows on the other three walls. Not a lot of wall space to really paint. Oh, and the walls are that wallpaper that you can paint.

It's Sunday...

The only thing I have to do today is the dishes.....

First Week Back .......

The first week back to school and all of the schedules have left me very tired and I will be sleeping till at least 10:00am on Sunday.

I have cleaned the house and done at least 4 loads of laundry every day since Monday. Tuesday I forgot a doctors appointment (I did say I was very sorry, but they still wern't very nice about it) and we have had at least one extra child since Wednesday. We have gone to Tai Kwon Do and Ice Skating almost every night. Today, Nicks friend went home, after the birthday party at Chuck E Cheese of course.

Also just to let you know that my husbands blood pressure is around 128 over 84.
Now at least I am not afraid of him dieing of a heart attack or a stroke.

P.S. I forgot to mention that I had a booster board meeting for my sons school. I am mailings chairperson and in charge of the high school garage sale and I don't have an help on either of those stupid things. Oh, and we had about 10 inches of snow in the last 24 hours! Moving back to Texas looks really good!

First Monday of the New Year....

It's Monday, the kids are at school and I finally have a minute to sit down with my coffee to update our family calendar and I am trying to get back into the swing of things. So far the calendar looks very busy and I am already looking forward to summer vacations!

We did however get the Christmas ornaments and all 3 trees down yesterday. My poor husband made about 12-15 trips down to the basement to take everything down to the back room. I looked around the house this morning to make sure we had gotten everything taken down and I saw the Christmas rug we had forgotten. That needs to go down at some point! Yes, I know, he loves me, lots!
