If you are looking for the old reliable ..

I am a big garage sale, estate sale and thrift store fan. I have seen them at thrift stores and that's where I usually get most of my records. Can't beat $ .50 for a record, can you? I haven't been able to bring myself to buy any of the 8 tracks.

Fell in love all over again.....

Recently I fell in love all over again with my record player. I had put it down in the basement after my husband tried selling it at a garage sale a few years ago because we had gotten a retro record player.

I have also been trying to explain to my 16 year old son about how a record player you can hear the layers in music and on an ipod it sounds crisp and one layer (I am not 28 that I have been telling everyone for the last several years, but I think you can guess).

A few weeks ago I bought the new Police album (yes I did and they were a limited edition) and it didn't sound right on that dinky little retro thing. Soooo, I brought up the old one and dinky got moved to the upstairs hallway.

I am having the wonderful time listening to the Police, Nat King Cole Christmas and whatever else I can find.

Our First Real Snow.....

The first real snow and the girls had to go out in it and help daddy.

The snow didn't stick on the ground, even though it snowed most of the day.
Wonder how much we will get this winter?
It's time to hibernate!

Wizzie and the Limo.....

Wizzie was one of the children picked to ride in the limo to a restaurant on Friday.

Only 10 children went on the ride from the school.

I believe they had a great time!

Sundays are lazy days.....

Because it was Sunday, I decided to have my morning coffee with two biscottis, read the advertisements in the paper and instead of getting out the iron, I made a pair of pants for Wizzie to wear to school tomorrow. Lazy aren't I? And all this before my shower.

Its Fall.....

I Love Fall

I love fall! Fall is exciting.
It's apples and cider.

It's an airborne spider.

It's pumpkins in bins.
It's burrs on dog's chins.
It's wind blowing leaves.
It's chilly red knees.
It's nuts on the ground.

It's a crisp dry sound.
It's green leaves turning
And the smell of them burning.
It's clouds in the sky.

Halloween in our neighborhood

Nick was excellent at keeping up with the girls.

It was sooooo crowded, there were lines sometimes to get to the house giving out the candy.

The Squrriel and the Sunflower

We had a visitor on one of the large sunflowers one day...

Ian......

Ian had to quit Tae Kwon Do because his blood pressure is high. 190 something over 140 something. He had to have an MRI, MRA, a full blood analysis and other tests. The doctor didn't find any reason for his blood pressure to be that high. He is now on 2 different kinds of meds and the doctor keeps upping the dosage. Other then that, Ian is in perfect health.

The Garden was Beautiful Till the Very End.....

Our sunflower reached about 13 feet tall if not more and the garden was beautiful this year. I can't wait to start the garden next spring.

The Girls Birthday Party....

The girls had their birthday party together again. I believe the girls and their friends had a great time. Think they will go one or two more years of having a party together?

Catch up Time on Everyone, Again!

Mimi is still figure skating. She is the youngest one in her class and she speeds and does circles around the other students.












Wizzie is now a orange-white belt. She tried hockey, but didn't care for it. She has gone back to figure skating and is doing better then before hockey.






























Since the last post Nick has gone from green belt to a brown belt now. Look at that KICK!
