Getting a hairdryer through customs...

A distinguished young woman on a flight from Ireland
asked the Priest
beside her, 'Father, may I ask a favour?'

'Of course, child. What may I do for you?'

'Well, I bought an expensive woman's
electronic hair dryer for my
mother's birthday that is unopened and well over
the Customs limits,
and I'm afraid they'll confiscate it. Is there
any way you could carry
it through customs for me? Under your robes
perhaps?'

'I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn
you: I will not lie.'

'With your honest face, Father, no one will
question you.'

When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead
of her.
The official asked, 'Father, do you have anything
to declare?'

'From the top of my head down to my waist, I have
nothing to declare.'

The official thought this answer strange, so asked,
'And what do you
have to declare from your waist to the floor?'

'I have a marvelous instrument designed to be used
on a woman, but
which is, to date, unused.'

Roaring with laughter, the o fficial said, 'Go
ahead, Father. Next!'

Potato salad

I love potato salads. This one I might have to make for the 4th!

I'll have to change the white potatoes for red!

Bacon Potato Salad recipe.

Prep: 15 min., Cook: 18 min., Chill: 1 hr. Round white potatoes work well in this recipe. To lighten, use light mayonnaise and sour cream. To make ahead, peel and cut potatoes the night before, cover with water, and chill.

Yield: Makes 6 servings
Ingredients
6 to 8 medium potatoes (about 3 pounds), peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
6 green onions, chopped
2 celery ribs, finely chopped
2 tablespoons diced pimiento, drained
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
Garnishes: paprika, celery sticks
Preparation
Cook potatoes in boiling water to cover in a Dutch oven over medium heat 15 to 18 minutes or until tender. Drain and let cool slightly.

Place potatoes in a large bowl. Add bacon, chopped green onions, and next 4 ingredients. Stir together mayonnaise and sour cream until blended. Pour over potato mixture, tossing gently to coat. Cover and chill at least 1 hour. Garnish, if desired.

I found this Paula Deen 7 quart porcelain enamel cast iron pot, tucked away on a shelf at a JC Penny outlet. Paid $40.00 for it. Looked it up on their website and it's $109.00. Who can pass that up?

Our results from the stager!

As some of you know, we are selling our house. Our realtor had a professional stager come in and go through our house. I know they are trying to help....... but we do have to live here!

So far.... She doesn't like my red bathroom, my curtains (don't know in which rooms), the hutch in the kitchen, my grandfather clock in my dining room, the bookcase in the living room, the family pictures in the stairwell (yes, I know you should remove them, I did that in our last house we sold) and the chairs at the end of my bed. But she like my paint colors through out the houses I forgot to mention that they didn't like my husbands roll-top computer desk in the living room (husband is a professional computer programmer. You don't tell one of those that he has to get rid of or move his computer desk and still get your iPad when it comes out).
She also thinks I should pack away more of my crap. She doesn't know how much crap I did pack away!

I wonder what she is going to say about my big old 27 inch mac on my desk in the craft room (which is no longer a craft room, but an office for me. All of the craft has been packed away.)

I say if they want to buy the house then they won't care about all that other crap!

We do have to live here with 3 kids who make a mess every 5 seconds, 3 dogs, 2 birds and a ferret. Don't forget the husband who believes in cleaning fairies.........

The house hunt on the other side...... We made an offer on a house that has been on the market for 2 years. They don't like it, so we will probably move on to another house. I am thinking of a 5 bedroom with 3900 square feet. That is going to be fun to clean! But, my goal is to get lost in the house and not be found for at least 10 minutes!
We all have our dreams....... That's mine!

I finally found a scalloped potato recipe that didn't sound too scary or complex to make! Of course I had to tweak it!

6-7 red potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken sou
1 soup an of milk
2 cup bag of grated cheddar cheese
1 stick of butter (gotta have the butter!)
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Try it! It will not be on your diet!

Oatmeal Pie!

One of the deserts I plan on making for this Thanksgiving!

2 eggs
1 stick melted butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup Karo syrup
2/3 cup uncooked oatmeal

Stir together the ingredients and pour into an unbaked pieshell. Bake at 350 until brown and firm, about 45 minutes.

Enjoy!

Family Favorite's we have......

This should get you thinking about fall!

Pumpkin Bread
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 tsps. soda
1 1/2 tsps. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup oil
4 eggs
2/3 cup water
2 cups pumpkin
3 cups sugar

Sift together dry ingredients, including sugar, into mixing bowl. Make a "well" in the dry ingredients and add all remaining ingredients. Mix together until smooth. Pour batter into bread loaf pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done.

Store, wrapped, in refrigerator or freeze.

This makes a very large recipe!

I thought it would be my dream for a doctor to tell me to sit on the couch for another 3 weeks, read trashy books and watch TV. But I can honestly say, that I am bored out of my mind after only a week and a half.
I need to get up and clean up my house. I need to cook food for my family. I think the kids have lost weight. I know my husband has and so have I. Yes, it is my husbands cooking that's doing it to us! He is trying! Really!
Did I mention I am bored!!!!

A wonderful Japanese garden called Anderson Gardens.

If you are ever in or around this area you should try and visit. It is rated somewhere in the top ten of Japanese gardens in the US.

I can't remember who told me that a total hysterectomy is like a c-section. Well they lied to me! The only things that are similar is the 6-8 slice in my stomach and it was an OB/GYN who did it to me!

After the surgery on Monday I was knocked out till about midnight. The only thing I remember is pushing a button for morphine and my family showing up! I think I was pushing the button more then it wanted to give me.

Tuesday they took my morphine toy away and made me get up and walk! Before you say anything, I have had 2 c-sections and they were a year apart from each other. Then there was that fact that I had to blow wind before they would let me eat. An all liquid diet at a hospital is not a all pleasant. I still don't know what the yellow jello was.......it wasn't lemon, I do know that.

By Wednesday the nurses had had enough of me. I would call them tell them I have to use the bathroom they would show up after I had used the bathroom . The only thing they had to do is put these leg compression torture things back on my legs. A word about those is that after having them on for the first 24 hours they feel like my dachshunds are moving around my legs.

My husband and children picked me up on Wednesday about noon and home we went! I have on the 2nd floor of my home since, per doctors orders. Tomorrow I get to go downstairs. Yea!!!!

I do have to say this about my husband, he has been absolutely wonderful. He has waited on me hand and foot since I have come home. You have got to love a man who will do that for you. He even braved the grocery store and Wal-Mart for me today. What a wonderful husband I have!!!

I would also like to thank my friend Tracey in England for sending me a wonderful get well card. You brightened my day with it!

Anyway I am feeling better, but I don't think I will be bouncing back as quick as I did 6 years ago with my 2nd c-section.

First off, I do have to say I am sorry about not blogging lately. I have been having some issues. Female issues...... On August 3 they will be taking out my uterus through a big incision on my stomach. I have had 2 c-sections and they don't have a choice on that one.

I have been sooo incredibly tired all of the time. They have put me on iron pills and hormones and I still just want to sleep the day away.

My dad flew in June 22 and so did my in-laws. I am afraid that their trip here this time was a little boring! They just watched me sleep alot.

I did get pictures and I will post those over the next few days!

I have been a busy slug!

I have been playing in the garden that I have been looking forward to since last winter!!

Attending my daughters pre-school graduation!
She was and is very beautiful!

And a birthday party for my girls, which included cleaning all 3 floors of the house and laundry.

Now I am getting ready for the grandparents (my in-laws and my dad) invasion a week from today. Again, it's the cleaning and trying to do all the laundry. We won't say anything about me reading trashy vampire books for a few hours every day.

I am going to try and keep up with everyone and try blog every day, or at least everyday. I do want to say sorry for being such a slug about blogging...... even my husband has commented on it!

I made something simple this week as I am tired from trying to catch up with everything still!

And I had The Husband cut up a cantaloupe.

Othe things that I have been up to is planting my garden that I had to put off a bit because of the garage sale.

I planted this one recently. I just hope it will last through this coming winter. Your have to remember that we reached -26 degrees this past winter. I lost 3 rose bushes to that!

I have planted lettuce, bell peppers, eggplant, pumpkins, green beans, acorn squash, zucchini, onions, cucumbers and a perennial garden.

We have also been BBQing!

We also went to our daughters fun fair at the elementary school. We bought $10 worth of tickets and got 12 tickets.
We won a garden package....

AND A BIKE FOR THE MIDDLE DAUGHTER!

I will visit with everyone over the weekend!

The yellow chair is one of my favorite places to sit and watch the world go by on a Sunday.

I had been thinking all winter what this room was missing and I decided it was curtains.

I wanted the feel of another room and not just a porch.

I haven't had a chance to sit here yet but I will!

If your wondering where I have been, it has been in my basement trying to fold laundry (as of yesterday 12 loads, with eight more still need doing!). I am so far behind in everything I could cry! I have NEVER been this far behind, nor have I been this guilt ridden over it! The president of our booster added my hours up and I worked over 60+ hours in 9 days.

I am still trying to get my veggie and perennial garden in, planning my girls birthday party and getting ready for the grandparent invasion at the end of June.

Last Friday we went to our son's Fine Art Festival and had a great time!

He's wonderful!

His first piece is going to be sold!!1

This was not my son's, but I thought it was beautiful!

The garage sale is over and done with and I am very tired!

We had a great sale and made more money then last year!

I will not be heading this thing next year! I am behind on cleaning, laundry, gardening and family time. This coming week I will be catching up with everyone and everything that I have ignored for the last couple of weeks.

This is where I have been since Thursday. This is where I will be till next Saturday afternoon. That's my excuse for not being around for the next few days.
I am sooooo tired already!
We don't have as many volunteers as we would like so we are having to most of the work.
You know the problem, more Chiefs then Indians!

Our first night, Thursday we received a lot of stuff!

By Saturday, we had gotten a lot more!

And don't think I am not already coming home with stuff too!

Not enough to keep me from a few garage sales and a thrift store!

All of the white serving pieces was only $10.00! 7 apple plates were .45 each! A spice rack .75 and another afghan! I loved the colors in the afghan.

After feeling sick for he past few days, we are finally feeling better! I think everyone in the house is over it or at least I hope they are. I have had someone come to me in the past few days say they have a headache and a stomach ache. It was like the plague hit us! There was no cooking in this house for days! Everyone has been on their own since Tuesday or Wednesday?

And since everyone was feeling better I decided to make something that I knew everyone would like to eat! Hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries and potato salad!
No one could resist!
Sorry I haven't been around and now I ma off to visit everyone!

Did you think I would forget to go to he thrift store last week?
Yea, right!

I bought a few things....
The wooden candle sconces above I am going to get rid of the green stuff and paint.

The spoons above are ceramic and I have no idea what to do with them.
I may just hang them in the kitchen.

I told a friend about the serving dish above and she asked me if I needed it.
I told her that I wanted it!
Love silver! Don't like polishing it, but I do love it!

I thought this serving piece was too pretty to pass up.
And, yes it was $1.25.

I also had to get the copper fish mold. Another collection!

And believe it or not I only paid $9 and change for the lot!

Getting ready for everyone to show up in June means I had to put together my sons futon! My dad is sleeping on the futon and my in-laws are sleeping on the sleeper sofa in the den.
Lots of pieces!
The Husband came up to help me about halfway through. He was reloading our sons laptop.
But we got it done!

For a few years now I have been looking for a recipe to cook Baked Beans. Finally found it when I was in the Dr.s office with one of the girls. Flipping through a magazine and there it was. Yes, I ripped a few pages out of the Dr.'s magazine, don't tell anyone!
Decided to try it!
This is one of those that has to cook in the oven for 5 hours and you have to check it every hour.

But it was worth it in the end!

Of course I tweaked it! I wouldn't be me if I didn't tweak it!

We had such a mess in the house and it is still a mess!

I have had a very busy few day!

Friday I had to go shopping! It was stock up day, which meant I had to go to Valli Produce, Wal-Mart, Sams Club. I also had to go to Kohls, Target, Michael's (I will show that in another post), a thrift store (couldn't miss that!), 2 carpet places to get estimates and World Market. I was a very tired women by the end of the day! It didn't help that I had bought the first 2 books in the Twilight series and got hooked into them!

Saturday I had to go pick up some garage sale donations for the high school, the carpet place to place the order the carpet, go to Target again and Lowes! I got hooked into the books again.....

Sunday we had to move things out of the bedrooms for the carpet.

Monday my battery on my van wouldn't start. I had my last Dr.'s appt. for Bob, we had the carpet people putting in carpet and started putting everything back.

Tuesday my battery wouldn't start on my van again, so off to Wal-Mart to get it fixed. I also bought the last to books in the series while I was there and got hooked again! Anyway, after they put in a new battery I had to go over to the other Wal-Mart and get something my husband wanted. At home I was putting things back in the rooms and the kids had ice skating and tai kwon do in the evening. And got hooked into the books again!

Wednesday I was putting stuff away still from the carpet and I finished the last book in the series! I did enjoy the series too!

Today I have the girls home today. One doesn't have school and the other is tossing her cookies! Yuck! I will be cleaning and doing laundry today and I will catch up with everyone tonight for Foodie Friday and I received and award from Tracey which I will post tonight!

After having all three of my kids and one of my kids friends for two days during spring break, I needed an easy dinner tonight and the husband made it too!
Won't mention the fact that the their is no snack food!

Get a bag of Asian Vegetables from Sam's Club and cook it.

Make some rice. If you don't have a rice maker, get one! Best money we ever spent. You will always make the perfect rice! We also only use Jasmine rice.

And you have a quick dinner for very tired parents!

However I did need something chocolate!

Look what I got in the mail yesterday!!!

Saturday and Sunday we started the major clean-up of the backyard and unloading the garage of everything!

I also got this idea to repaint my wicker furniture that sits on the back porch! Unfortunately I ran out of the yellow on the first chair! I got the idea to paint each one a different color then! What do you think?

Nick took a break from raking leaves and decided to see if he could fit in the coopy car!

The garden is ready for veggies and flowers but we don't have any in the stores yet!

Hard to believe this is what it will look like by June!
I am one tired women and I still have to clean the house today!

Friday morning I was driving my son to school, the girls (one was sick and the other didn't have school) were at home with Daddy who was working from home. I knew I had to get home because I had people coming over and I had to CLEAN.
As I am driving to the school I see the ESTATE SALE sign, but I keep driving and the whole time I was thinking about the sign.... I couldn't drop the kid off fast enough! Next thing I know I am driving down the street that the estate sale is on looking for it! Found it and went in! Oh I saw some pretty stuff! Milk glass, old knick knacks, Halloween, Christmas, old linens, furniture, all at really good prices too!
Anyway, I found a lovely pillow in the living room, 2 ceramic chicken plaques for the kitchen and then I found the craft room! Found lot there, lace, bias tape, old sewing box, cabbage patch clothes, fabric and other sewing stuff! I was in heaven! As I was about to check out I found the little green plate and pitcher, added that to my pile! The women was adding everything up and I mentioned the wooden bench out in front and how much did they want for it. Another women said to sell it to me for, can you believe this, $1.00! I of course said SOLD! Everything including the bench was $21.00.

I have had this cookbook for the past 20 years! I picked it up in a thrift store when I lived in Los Angeles. It was originally from the National Charity League of Los Angeles Founders Chapter.
I love this cookbook! As you can see I write in them. I usually write in most of my cookbooks! Another bad habit of mine!

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the food yet because I am making it tomorrow when the children are at school! I have some of the booster board coming over to discuss the high school garage sale that we are having the first weekend of May.
Guess who is in charge? ME!

Anyway, I wanted to be nice and feed them since they are coming to my house for the meeting.
I will make them the best banana bread that I have ever had! I have had lots, trust me!
Here is the recipe:
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup margarine
4-5 bananas, mashed
2 eggs, well-beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
2 cups sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup buttermilk *
3/4 cup chopped walnuts **

Preheat oven 325 degrees.
Cream margarine and sugar together. Add bananas, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour with soda and salt. Stir flour mixture and banana mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add nuts. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. If using large loaf pan, bake 1 -11/2 hours. If using 2 medium or 4 small loaf pans cook in less time. 35-45 minutes. Test with toothpick. Should be moist!

* If you don't have buttermilk, you can make some with 1 Tbl. of vinegar or lemon juice plus milk to equal 1 cup.

** No you don't have to add nuts. I never do!

There is this desk in my craft room that I don't like!
But I need it to hold things or I will take the space up with fabric and craft stuff!

Until I can figure out what I really want there, I decided to cover it.

My father in law had made a table for me that I covered before.

I re-used the fabric, trim and upholstery nails.....

And it's done!
The advantage is that it hides misc junk in there too!
It will do until I get what I want for that area.

I bought lovely large plates at $1.59 each (because we all know that we like to eat in this family!), small plates at $.99 each , large chunky bowls at $1.49 each, a few new goblet glasses, a triffle bowl for $5.00, a bamboo tray for $1.00 and a very large terra cotta saucer to use as a bird bath in the garden.

To the people who have seen my house, yes I really do think I needed this stuff!

Isn't it pretty? Am I the only one who thinks so?

I love glass ware!

What's the point of having a small bowl? A large one is alot better and you don't have to go back for 2nds!

I have a 3 tiered plate stand and they are so big that they wouldn't fit! So, I am using a cake stand to hold them.

With buying all of that, I had to make the husband happy, so I made him a few of his favorites for dinner last night!

My poor husband. I can only torment him once! He get nervous when I take the card or check book with me to one of these! If these were in different months I would go to both, but since they are in the same month, 1 wee apart, we don't want him to have a stroke and worry about taking a 2nd out on the house!

You know that I can't pass up a thrift store!
On Wednesday before my surgery I had to go grocery shopping so everyone would have something to eat while I was recuperating! Guess what happens to be next to the grocery store? A Thrift Store! Even though I had to rush through the thrift store I found a lovely wooden spoon and another serving bowl (Like I need another serving bowl)!

I think next week I need a trip to Old Time Pottery next week to see if I can't find some pretty dishes!

The China Closet!

There are 3 sets of dishes in this closet, a wooden box of silverware, sandwich plates with tea cups, various trays, tea cup collection and other stuff!
Can you guess, I will collect almost anything!

An Idea I Found....

I have been thinking for awhile about what to do with the back of the open shelves of my cabinets. I saw this idea on Tatertots and Jello. Within minutes I was in the kitchen with the wallpaper that the previous owners had left and put it up in the cabinets.

A few weeks ago I was going to paint the den. But I couldn't do that to my husband. We had just painted the bathroom and the craft room the previous weekend and he looked very tired. So I put off painting.

I have a few deadlines coming up.
Spring, I want and need to get out and dig and plant!
The girls birthday party, which I am going to have in May this year.
And finally my in-laws and my dad will be here end of June and most of July.
So I am about to enter panic mode.
Since I knew my surgery was coming up, I did need to get the den done. We have a lot of heavy furniture in here and I didn't know how long it would take me to feel like moving stuff and time is running out!

As you can see, my children didn't believe that we were painting the den, even though I was taking stuff out of there!

My husband has to love me very much to let me take a pictures of him while he is doing something he really doesn't want to do.

The wall paper was very ugly!
Yes, we did paint over the wallpaper. We think the wallpaper is what is holding the walls up!

He is such a good husband! We won't mention him tripping over the can of paint and spilling it on the carpet and having to use Spot Shot, Oops, Goof Off and a carpet shampooer to get the paint out! We won't mentions that.

The next project in here is to look for fabric for new curtains!

I can see my paintings on the walls now instead of just wall paper!

Humphrey had to get paint on his ear. Every time we paint, he always gets paint on him somewhere!

French Fried Onions!
Drinking coffee all day long!
and Let's Make A Deal game show! I actually DVR this everyday and watch it. I love looking at all of the stuff they were giving away. It's all very 70's! I remember having that stuff in our house growing up. I also see some of that stuff in the thrift stores now! I resist some but not all of it! I will show you one day!

Always go for the door with the carpet or door number 3!

My husband decided to participate in Foodie Friday this time. He made something we call sausage eggs. I had made up the recipe a number of years ago. Which has maple sausage, cheese and eggs. He also made bacon. That is something he can cook better then me!

I have made Caramel Apple Cheesecake!

I found the recipe a few years ago in of course one of my favorite cookbooks, PAULA DEEN!
This is one of our favorite desserts. Our middle daughter says this and my pumpkin pie are her favorites! This cheesecake also doesn't even get a chance to cool off before everyone wants a piece of it!

Well, I didn't remember the recipe that someone posted on Foodie Friday and I also couldn't remember who posted it. I found it afterward though.
So I made up my own.
I thought it was good and so did one of my girls. Husband wasn't too thrilled about it. However, as you can see, he was waiting for his dinner and when it was put in front of him, he did eat it. He is such a good husband and he must love me very much to eat my goof-ups!
Guess what was for dinner tonight?
Oh well, I'll make something he likes tomorrow night.

The Salvation Army opened a new thrift store with 30,000 square feet of space, on Friday and guess who could not resist! ME!

It was even on the front page of our local paper, which my husband didn't see.
If you have ever been to Black Friday, the only difference between that and this was that it was 9:00am not 5:00am.
The only thing I can say is that when I got in there, I grabbed what I could! Unfortunately about 10:10am I decided to get in line to check out because I was hearing things about the lines being long(I had to pick up my youngest child from pre-school). Well, they were! I finally checked out at 10:40am! On the good side of that, I may have found another volunteer for our high school garage sale.
I thought I had spent about 50, no it was 60. Ever do the cash/credit so your husband doesn't really know how much you really spent?
Anyway, after I picked up the youngest, I went home showed my husband my load (he was working from home that day), I asked him if he had $10.00, I told him just in case I might need some cash. You would think he would know where I was going! Y'all know right? Well he didn't! Not until I called him and asked him if he could use something I found. He could use it.
I was there for a couple of hours and only came away $26.00 worth of stuff (of course I did the cash/credit again)!

The rest of Friday was spent going to the grocery store, Wal-Mart and Sams Club. I won't show you that again. You can just imagine my big van piled with groceries in the back and throughout!

Saturday I spent cleaning up the kitchen and putting away my loot until my son said he needed to go to the doctor for his sore throat, he has been home since Thursday afternoon with it. Since it was after hours, we had to go to convenient care. I was really hoping for Strep, but it wasn't (at least we would have gotten a prescription and no more complaining). The doctor said he just had a sore throat and it will get better on it's own! When this child gets sick, he really gets sick! Anyway, now my husband is complaining about the same thing. It's going to be a very long Sunday! I think I will be folding laundry in the basement!

Now I am off to catch up with everyone! See you!

Doctor's Appointment Yesterday!

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday, which of course was fun. The nurse came in marked an X where Bob is, did the questions and all of the other stuff that they do, gave me a paper vest. You would think with how much this is going to cost, they would give me a threadbare hospital gown. After having to get half undressed in front of my 5 year old (doctor's appointment was at the same time she would get out of school) the doctor come in feels Bob and tells me that he a fatty growth. That's the good news. The bad news is that he is still coming out! I was given 2 options. 1. The doctor could freeze or numb up Bob and the area and cut him out in his office (DON'T THINK SO!). or 2. Go to the surgical center where they will give me some nice calming drugs in an IV where I really won't care what is going on and if I am really nice they will give me a little caffeine through the IV to ward of that lovely headache if I don't have my 2-3 cup of coffee by 9:00am. I believe I pick..........Option 2! Go for the drugs! I told the doctor I would consider that a vacation! He said that wasn't a vacation and I told him he doesn't have 3 kids! Anyway they will call me and let me know when Bob will be removed. Hopefully next week will be the surgery because I have things to do in the next few months (Organizing a garage sale for my son's high school and getting the garden going as soon as this cold stuff goes away).

I will catch up with my visiting with everyone tonight as my family has run out of things to wear and everything is piling up! Uggg!

I won't go into horrible details like how we got another 4-6 inches of SNOW yesterday!
And since we have all seen what snow looks like I didn't take any more pictures of it. Does anyone want to see any more snow? Didn't think so!

I can see myself sitting on the back porch and drinking ice tea.....and that evening we will BBQ and roast marshmellows over the firepit. Can you see it? I can, vaugley.

By the way, did I ever tell you some of the history about my house?
Well....2 owners ago, the husband and wife who lived in this house spent alot of time gardening and landscaping. Put in huge rocks and trees, roses and the works. The people we bought the house from didn't like any of the roses, plants or trees so she ripped them out! Put a fence in the backyard (which we don't mind) and stuck her potbelly pig in it! So, we had a pig living in our backyard for a time. Then one day the city decided that they would look into it and decided that there would be no farm animals inside city limits all because of this pig. They got rid of the pig and part of the fence and put an ugly boat in it. When we moved in there was barely any grass and no plants. Last year my husband, the children and I dug up 2/3 of the yard and mulched the other 1/3. Grass wasn't growing anyway so why not?
We just have to figure out what we are going to do with the patio bit now.
